Because web typography matters
Creating this site as a non web based designer has been pretty interesting, I still feel that this is the start of something, and not the finished product. Not only do I find myself limited to the choices of fonts I can use, but worse, limited by my knowledge of how to get the most out of these fonts from a coding perspective.
However I am still learning and what you see this site as today, may have only small resemblances to what it might look like in a few months time.
With that in mind I’ve been taking a look at web based type, and found some really interesting articles regarding web and type. Heres a run down of some of the good sources of information I’ve been looking through:
Top 10 Web Based Fonts – Speckyboy
Web Typography Cheat Sheet – Modern L
List of Web Safe fonts and Platforms – Dustin Brewer
A Guide to Web typography – I Love Typography
How to Size Text in CSS – A List Apart
The Anatomy of Web Fonts – Sitepoint
Fonts, JavaScript, and How Designers Design – Typekit (thanks Klein)
Now to digest the information in these articles.
